The Flute Player – Original Pastel by Rosemary Thibault
The Flute Player – Original Pastel by Rosemary Thibault
Details
A soft, painterly pastel portrait of a young boy in a feathered cap, shown in profile as he plays a wooden flute. Warm candlelit golds glow behind him, set off by touches of turquoise and white in his sleeve. The subject and lighting nod to the Dutch Golden Age portraits of young musicians.
Signed Rosemary Thibault, lower right. Original pastel on textured paper, framed under glass in a gold frame with a beaded inner edge.
Styling: A warm, intimate piece for a music room, library, bedroom or a small wall by a window. Pair it with a vintage brass lamp, an old instrument or a stack of books, or group it with other gilt-framed portraits for an old-world gallery wall.
Measurements: 14.5" W x 18.5" H
