Plönlein, Rothenburg Hand-Colored Etching by Hans Böhme
Details
A charming hand-colored original etching of the Plönlein in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the storybook corner of Germany's best-preserved medieval town. Fine etched linework captures the crooked half-timbered house with its flower boxes, cobblestone lanes and two stone tower gates, finished by hand in soft washes of ochre, moss green, rose and sky blue.
Pencil-signed Hans Böhme and inscribed "Original Radierung" (original etching) and "Plönlein Rothenburg." Framed under glass with a cream mat in an ornate gilt frame with a cream-washed finish and floral corners.
Styling: Its warm, old-world feel suits a cozy reading nook, library wall or entryway above a vintage console. Pair with brass candlesticks, leather-bound books or a small pottery vase, or mix it into a gallery wall of gilt-framed pieces. A sweet gift for anyone with German roots or travel memories of Europe.
